Kevin Loughrey
Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Director
Mr. Loughrey is currently the Chairman of our Board of Directors and has been our Chief Executive Officer since December 1, 2006. In this capacity, Mr. Loughrey has overseen the activities of our Company since our acquisition of Thompson Creek Metals Company (now Thompson Creek Metals Company USA) in 2006. Under his leadership, we were listed on the New York Stock Exchange in November of 2007 and achieved record revenues of $1 billion in 2008. From 2005 until 2006, Mr. Loughrey served as the President of Thompson Creek Metals Company and as such was responsible for all of the Thompson Creek operations. From 1998 until 2005, he served as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of such company. Mr. Loughrey also served as the Senior Vice President and General Counsel for First Dynasty Mines Ltd. and Cyprus Minerals Company. Mr. Loughrey was responsible for complex legal matters including several major acquisitions, listing Cyprus on the New York Stock Exchange, and the 1993 merger of Cyprus with AMAX Inc. Mr. Loughrey has over 30 years of experience in the mining business. Mr. Loughrey holds a Bachelor of Arts from Colorado State University and a law degree from the University of Houston. We believe Mr. Loughrey's qualifications to sit on our Board of Directors include his CEO experience leading a large, international organization and his extensive knowledge of the mining industry.
S. Scott Shellhaas
President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Shellhaas joined the Corporation as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer on August 10, 2009, and was appointed President of the Corporation on May 23, 2011. He has over 25 years of international executive management and operating experience within the mining industry. Mr. Shellhaas' mining career started with Cyprus Amax Minerals Company where he was a managing attorney from 1982 to 1989. He subsequently served in operating positions, including: President of Cyprus Australia Gold Company (1989-1991), a gold and copper producer in Australia; President of Cyprus Northshore Mining Company (1991-1994), an iron ore producer in Minnesota; President of Cyprus Foote Mineral Company (1993-1996), an international lithium producer operating in Chile and the United States; and President and Chief Operating Officer of Amax Gold Inc. (1996-1998), a publicly traded global gold producer. From 1998 to 2000, he was President of Cyprus Australia Coal Company, a coal producer in Australia, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Oakbridge Proprietary Ltd., an associated coal producing and marketing joint venture and consortium. From 2000 to 2007, Mr. Shellhaas was the CEO designate for venture capital development projects involving coal, iron and steel producers within the United States. He then was Vice President of Richmond, Virginia-based Imagin Natural Resources, a start-up natural resource company focusing on the acquisition and operation of coal assets. After leaving Imagin in 2008, he provided executive management consulting services to natural resource and energy companies. Mr. Shellhaas has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a Juris Doctor with Honors from the University of Wyoming School of Law.
Pamela L. Saxton
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Saxton joined the Corporation on August 4, 2008 and became Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Finance on October 16, 2008. Ms. Saxton was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer on August 5, 2011. Ms. Saxton has over 30 years of domestic and international finance and accounting experience within and outside the mining industry. She was previously Vice President, Finance -- U.S. Operations for Franco-Nevada U.S. Corporation, located in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Prior to joining Franco-Nevada in 2007, Ms. Saxton was the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Colorado-based NewWest Gold Corporation. From 2004 to 2006, she was with First Data Corporation as Vice President and Controller -- Payments Division in Englewood, Colorado. Ms. Saxton also served as Vice President Finance, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of J.D. Edwards & Company in Denver from 1994 to 2003. Prior to that, she was Vice President and Controller of Amax Gold, Inc. and Assistant Controller of Cyprus Amax Minerals Company from 1987 to 1994. Ms. Saxton holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She is a member and past Chair of the Board for the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry.
Mark Wilson
Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer
Mr. Wilson joined Thompson Creek Metals Company in 2005 and became Vice President, Sales and Marketing in 2006. Mr. Wilson was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer on August 5, 2011. Having worked for more than 25 years in the mining industry, Mr. Wilson has extensive experience in marketing, business development and finance. Prior to joining Thompson Creek, he consulted for Climax Molybdenum Company on new product development (2001-2002) and served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Goldbelt Resources Ltd., a Canadian public company focused on mineral exploration in Kazakhstan (1996-1999). From 1981 to 1996, he was employed by Cyprus Amax Minerals Company in increasingly responsible roles including Vice President of Business Development and Manager of Molybdenum Marketing. Mr. Wilson holds a B.S. in Geology and Geophysics from Yale University and a M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
Wendy Cassity
Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Ms. Cassity was appointed Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of the Corporation in September 2010. She has 10 years of outside counsel experience representing public and private clients both domestic and international. Prior to joining Thompson Creek, she served as a consultant in private practice in 2010, as a Partner and Corporate Associate at McDermott, Will & Emery LLP from 2004 to 2009 and as a Corporate Associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP from 2000 to 2004. At McDermott, Ms. Cassity represented Thompson Creek in connection with the Thompson Creek Acquisition and the listing of the Corporation on the New York Stock Exchange. Her areas of expertise include contract structuring and negotiation, securities law, finance and mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Cassity earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona and her law degree from the Columbia University School of Law.
Robert Dorfler
Vice President and General Manager, Langeloth Metallurgical Facility
Mr. Dorfler has been the manager at Langeloth Metallurgical Company for 16 years and is currently Vice President and General Manager, Langeloth Metallurgical Facility. Prior to that Mr. Dorfler performed various engineering and manager assignments for mining, petroleum and engineering companies. A graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, he has over 40 years of experience in the mineral industry. Mr. Dorfler has authored or co-authored several technical papers related to molybdenum processing.
Chris Gibbs
Vice President, Human Resources and Administration
Mr. Gibbs joined the Corporation as Vice President, Human Resources and Administration on June 25, 2012. He has 28 years of human resource and operations experience within the resource sector in Australia, Canada, USA, Africa and Europe. Prior to joining Thompson Creek, Mr. Gibbs held various human resource positions at Barrick Gold Corporation from 2005 through June 2012, including his most recent position as Senior Director, Organizational Development. Prior to joining Barrick, Mr. Gibbs held leadership roles within human resources and operations at Millennium Chemicals, a major producer of titanium dioxide. Mr Gibbs also worked for CBH LTD, a bulk handling company and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a large employer association within Western Australia, with member companies within the mining and oil and gas industries. Mr. Gibbs holds a Bachelor of Business in Human Resources degree and a Master of Project Management degree from Curtin University in Western Australia.
John Hollow
Vice President and General Manager, Endako Mine
Mr. Hollow joined the Corporation as Vice President and General Manager of the Endako Mine in September of 2012. He has more than 20 years of milling and mineral processing experience. Prior to joining Thompson Creek, Mr. Hollow was Vice President, Concentrating Division for PT Freeport Indonesia, a subsidiary of Freeport McMoRan Copper and Gold. Prior to joining Freeport, John held mill management positions at Coeur Alaska, Inc., a subsidiary of Coeur D'Alene Mines, Fairbanks Gold Mining, Inc., a subsidiary of Kinross Gold, Inc., Lassen Gold Mining, Inc., a subsidiary of Amax Gold Inc., Wind Mountain Mining, Inc., and Nevada Gold Mining, Inc.. Mr. Hollow received a Ph.D. from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in Mineral Processing Engineering, and a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.S. in Mineral Processing Engineering from Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology.
Dennis Hoof
Vice President and General Manager, Mt. Milligan Mine
Mr. Hoof joined the Corporation as Vice President and General Manager of the Mt. Milligan project in February of 2013. Prior to joining Thompson Creek, Mr. Hoof worked for African Barrick Gold as General Manager of the Bulyanhulu Gold Mine in Tanzania. From 2007 through 2011, Mr. Hoof held key managerial positions with Barrick Niugini in Papua New Guinea as Asset Management Manager and General Manager of Strategic Planning and Projects. From 1997 through 2006, he held key managerial positions in the Petro Chemical and Chemical Manufacturing Industry's across Europe, UK and South America.
Darryl McCoy
Vice President, Supply Chain
Mr. McCoy joined Thompson Creek Metals Company in 2011 as Vice President, Supply Chain. He has over 26 years of procurement and supply chain management experience. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. McCoy was Senior Director Global Supply Chain for Kinross Gold Corporation, Director Global Supply Management for MDS Inc., and a consultant with Deloitte Consulting, working on major supply chain projects for a North American based airline company, a major Canadian retail chain, and a national courier service, among others. Mr. McCoy served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1985 through 1995 as an Army Operations Officer for NATO and the UN. Mr. McCoy holds a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Finance from Bishop's University in Quebec.
Kent Watson
Vice President and General Manager, Thompson Creek Mine
Mr. Watson joined the Corporation as Vice President and General Manager of the Thompson Creek Mine in September of 1997. He has over 32 years experience in the surface mining business in copper, molybdenum and coal. Mr. Watson spent 17 years with the former Cyprus Mineral Corp. at mines in Colorado, Arizona and Idaho. He served in managerial positions in solvent extraction/electrowinning copper production, mine maintenance, mine operations, and engineering. Prior to his experience with Cyprus, Mr. Watson worked for two surface coal mining companies as chief engineer, operations superintendent, and maintenance superintendent. Previous employers include: Utah International, General Electric, Getty Minerals, Texaco Minerals, Cyprus Minerals, and Cyprus Amax. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. He is a long standing member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration, a member of the Northwest Mining Association and serves on the Board of the Idaho Mining Association.
